Home in the Santa Cruz Mountains
When Jen and Rich purchased their house in the Los Gatos mountains, they knew they wanted to personalize it. After interviewing several contractors throughout the Bay Area, they narrowed their selection to three local contractors. The face-to-face interview with Eric sold both Jen and Rich. They decided Elite Construction would give them the service and results they wanted. Tahoe-based Aspen Leaf Design Co. aided the homeowners in narrowing the scope of their design, pointing them in the right direction on their appliances and fixtures, and advising them on how to give the home a modern cabin-like feel.
Many of our clients choose to live in their homes during their remodel. Jen and Rich were no exception. They rented a pod for most of their stuff and had Elite partition off part of the house. For nine months, they lived with one room and one bathroom. Rich and Jen both work in San Jose, so they could be out of the house while a good portion of the construction was taking place. At the end of each day, they would come home to see their dream home coming closer to completion.
When designing the main part of the house, Rich and Jen melded their unique styles. His style being more contemporary and modern, hers being more rustic and cozy.
Then they went a step further and decided each would be responsible for the design and materials of a separate bathroom.
Jen said the remodeling process was challenging but went smoothly for the most part. The best part of working with Elite Construction? Elite's flexibility and openness to changes in design direction. Jen and Rich also enjoyed watching the camaraderie that the Elite team and subcontractors had while working together.
When you move through the house, you notice the subtly graceful blending of the two styles which creates an overall feeling of elegant invitation. A feeling that anyone is welcome here. The result is nothing short of magnificent.
